Sound clips from Spook's CD "Freedom is Your Destiny"
Sorry that the .wav files are of mediocre sound quality. The high quality samples we made were 4 meg each and bandwidth is an issue. Hopefully these samples will give you an idea of what the music is like. The sound quality of the CD is quite good. The above samples were created using the Windows "telephone quality" setting (11khz,8bit,mono for the geeks amoung us). Some reviews of Spook's CD "Freedom is Your Destiny"The Courier-News said that "Freedom Is Your Destiny is a beautiful sound illustration of the folk artists's philosophy that the spirit is the only true means of liberation." (2/29/96) The Aquarian Weekly said that "Spook Handy addresses the search for soul, heart and the joy of music in his wonderful release, Freedom Is Your Destiny". They also said that "Anyone who's hungry for some soul-satisfying music should get a copy of this disc." (1/17/96) Wow, nice review. In an earlier issue they named Freedom Is Your Destiny as one of the top ten folk albums of 1995, in the company of such artists as the Indigo Girls and Patty Larkin. Steve Lahet's Laid Back Review says "Score Spook's new CD. Some tracks are clearly folk-rock influenced, but I think Freedom Is Your Destiny is folk music at it's bluegrass finger pickin' best" (3/4/96) The Home News and Tribune said "Spook Handy, not nearly as scary as that thing growing in the back of your refrigerator."(5/24/96) |
